Hi, I’m Sacha Walton, founder and editor of Biz Her Way. It is my mission to celebrate women business owners and female entrepreneurs who are disrupting their industries, trailblazing the norm, and impacting change within their communities.

Women are making an impact worldwide in business ownership. Whether they are Entrepreneurs, mompreneurs, authors, speakers, creatives, or intrapreneurs as C-suite employees; they are playing by their own rules and creating their narratives.

According to the Small Business Association (SBA), “over 13 million women own businesses in the US.” Women are taking their place in society and scaling businesses with ideas, talents, passions, and skillsets while staying focused on legacy building.

My heart desires to see women win and I’m excited about sharing the amazing stories of these phenomenal women.

Let’s lift up and applaud all the amazing, talented, inspirational, and diverse women around the world who are making their voices heard.

Recently, I had a wonderful interview with Ammie Michaels, founder of WolfPackHR. One of Biz Her Way’s Top 25 Women to Watch in 2024!

Thank you for having this interview with me. I’m excited about sharing your story in our Biz Her Way Series here on Medium.com.

Our readers would love to learn more about you. Please tell us who you are and a little something about yourself.

Hi There! I’m Ammie Michaels, a seasoned HR consultant and the founder of WolfpackHR, a consulting firm specializing in solutions for small businesses and startups.

I’m interrupting the consulting industry by offering flat-rate HR packages and services to entrepreneurs. I have an MBA in Human Resource Management and am also a certified mediator and facilitator. Additionally, as a founding member of WIN (Women’s Impact Network), I’m committed to helping other female entrepreneurs and business owners achieve their goals.

When I’m not being a busy professional, I like to balance my life with family time and adventures with my two Weimaraners enjoying our beautiful scenic Black Hills of South Dakota.

Everyone has a story behind the beginning of their business. What inspired you to start your own business, and how has your journey been so far?

After being a consultant for several years, I saw that there was a need in the market for a firm to cater to small businesses and startups with affordable and accessible pricing.

Tell us about the pivotal moment when you knew your business idea had great potential.

Many small businesses and startups are not aware of the employment laws that they need to follow, and I wanted to be able to get them the services that they need before they end up in legal trouble. Unlike other consulting firms, WolfpackHR offers flat-rate packages and services making pricing predictable for business owners.

Which quotes or affirmations inspire you?

So many from Mel Robbins, a couple of my favorites are “It’s okay to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.” and “Every phase of your life and career will require a different you. Using the Rule, you’ll become the person you’re meant to become in this next phase of your life.”

How are you making an impact with your business or project?

I’m making an impact through sustainability initiatives to help protect and preserve the environment. Portions of our sales go toward planting trees and supporting organizations such as The Nature Conservancy.

What advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs looking to start their own ventures?

Don’t let the fear of the unknown scare you out of taking action. Find a mentor or coach immediately and do not use your personal funds or credit to start your business.

We celebrate women entrepreneurs in our publication. How do you make a difference in the lives of other women entrepreneurs?

Yes, in addition to WolfpackHR, I am a founder of WIN: Women’s Impact Network where we offer free coaching, mentorship, training, and support with business funding to female founders and business owners.

How do you balance the demands of entrepreneurship with personal well-being and self-care?

Being an entrepreneur requires physical, mental, and emotional well-being and stability. Bodies build businesses so I have made it a priority to incorporate mindful movement into my schedule every day and I have added more plant-based foods into my diet. To take care of my mental well-being, I meditate every day and have adopted a breathwork practice.

“Your authentic self is your truest form of power.” — Ammie Michaels

Provide words of wisdom in 2 -5 sentences for another woman.

I’d say, remember that your authentic self is your truest form of power. Embrace who you are, with all your strengths and vulnerabilities, because it’s that unique blend that makes you irreplaceable.

We are all here for a purpose, to leave an imprint that only we can. So, let your light shine brightly and fearlessly; in doing so, you not only discover the depths of your capabilities but also inspire others to find their paths. Our collective impact, grounded in authenticity and kindness, can truly make this world a richer and more beautiful place.

What’s next for you?

A virtual summit targeted for business owners to bring them knowledge and resources for free to help their businesses thrive.
