Biz Her Way Series: Meet Jasmin Bryant Founder of Fear No Video
By: Sacha Walton, Business Strategist and CEO of SWI Management Group
Hi, I’m Sacha Walton, founder and editor of Biz Her Way. My mission is to celebrate women business owners and entrepreneurs who are disrupting their industries, trailblazing the norm, and impacting change within their communities.
Women are making an impact worldwide in business ownership. Whether they are Entrepreneurs, Mompreneurs, Authors, Speakers, Creatives, or Intrapreneurs as C-suite employees; they are playing by their own rules and creating their narratives.
According to the Small Business Association (SBA), “over 13 million women own businesses in the US.” Women are taking their place in society and scaling businesses with ideas, talents, passions, and skillsets while staying focused on legacy building.
My heart desires to see women win and I’m excited about sharing the amazing stories of these phenomenal women.
Let’s lift up and applaud all the amazing, talented, inspirational, and diverse women worldwide who are making their voices heard.
I’m excited about our upcoming women’s summit, The Biz Her Way Virtual Summit. It’s free to register, and we want you to join us. No matter what level of business you are at, you don’t want to miss this event. We have amazing speakers lined up just for you, and I recently had a wonderful conversation with Jasmin Bryant, Founder of Fear No Video and one of Biz Her Way’s Virtual Summit Speakers.
Thank you for having this interview with me. I’m excited about sharing your story in our Biz Her Way Series here on Medium.com.
Our readers would love to learn more about you. Please tell us who you are and a little something about yourself.
I am a globetrotting journalist who loves to help women shine. I have a sense of adventure and curiosity that either drives people nuts or makes them fall in love with me. No one ever believes it, but while I can talk to anyone and everyone … I am actually quite shy! I speak four languages, but not all of them are great now thanks to disuse. Maybe I need to move abroad again to brush up? If you want to make me smile, bring me a really good coffee or a plane ticket :)
As a brand visibility coach, I help women coaches and small business owners over 40 to create the life they dream of by being seen. Leveraging more than 30 years in TV News and as an actress in Hollywood, I love helping women break free from the fear of being on camera, and showing up for their potential customers so they can ditch the 9–5 and asking a boss for permission to spend time with their family.
Now, everyone has a story behind the beginning of their business. What inspired you to start your own business, and how has your journey been so far?
Other people actually inspired me to start my business. When I was a health coach, I would record videos with tips and do demos, then other coaches would ask me to show them how I did it.
They paid me in wine and Chinese food… then when I sold essential oils along with health coaching, my crosslines saw that every time I went live with a demo or education, my sales and sign-ups would increase and they said “Show me the way.”
After many people were asking me to share the gifts and talents I have, I realized maybe they’re on to something! I have a passion for helping women thrive because we are paid less than men for the same jobs and while I have been fortunate to be well-paid in my TV career, I know that isn’t the case for everyone.
I want to help level the playing field. I have too many friends who are hard-working moms and never feel like they are with their kids or grandkids enough. No woman should have to choose between making a paycheck or being present with their family.
Tell us about the pivotal moment when you knew your business idea had great potential.
I knew my idea had potential when people started asking me for help and advice.
Which quotes or affirmations inspire you?
I have never been a huge affirmations person, but I always wanted to be on Broadway and RENT is one of my favorite shows. This line always sticks out and it reminds me to shine whenever I start to suffer from a bout of imposter syndrome:
“A tiger in a cage Can never see the sun. This diva needs her stage. Baby, let’s have fun.”.
How are you making an impact with your business or project?
My business is helping other women to step into their power and create their dreams. When someone signs a new client or gets a new business partner in their MLM downline, it makes my heart soar. They are closer to their goals and the ripple effect is awesome.
What advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs looking to start their own ventures?
Figure out your why and just do it. Someone needs what you have, so invest in yourself and your future client or customer by jumping in.
We celebrate women entrepreneurs in our publication. How do you make a difference in the lives of other women entrepreneurs?
I inspire women entrepreneurs to stop being afraid to stand out and take up space. I help them realize that they are worthy and have a crap ton of value to offer to the world.
How do you balance the demands of entrepreneurship with personal well-being and self-care?
That’s a tough one because I am pretty sure my blood type is GO!!!! I do try to make it to the beach at least once a month. It really does restore my brain and spirit. I am also an artist, so getting my hands into paint or creating a new resin piece also soothes me, when I create to create, not to sell.
Provide words of wisdom in 2 -5 sentences for another woman.
1. Trust yourself. Your gut is rarely going to steer you wrong.
2. Read good books … a mix of business, self-help, and whatever helps you clear your mind. Lately, for me, that’s alien romances.. Why? I don’t know lol!
3. Find your tribe of women who support you and cheer for you while you do the same for them. Never let your girls face the world with a crooked crown, lipstick on her teeth or her dress tucked into her pantyhose.
What’s next for you?
I am hosting my first event in April, which is super exciting. It’s an all-inclusive content creators’ retreat. I’m nervous but so pumped for it to sell out and bring dozens of women out of their comfort zones.
