Vijay Kashyap, UP Minister Passes Away At 56, Due To COVID

Vijay Kashyap, the Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Revenue and Flood Control, died on Tuesday from coronavirus in a Gurgaon hospital. Mr. Kashyap (56), an MLA from Muzaffarnagar’s Charthawal Assembly seat, died at Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital due to COVID.
He is the third minister from Uttar Pradesh to die as a result of the virus. Last year, the infection killed Uttar Pradesh ministers Kamal Rani Varun and Chetan Chauhan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and stated that he was committed to public service.

Meanwhile, both Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh expressed their condolences on his death.
“Kashyap, an MLA from Charthawal, was a well-liked leader who worked hard as a minister. “With his death, the people have lost a true well-wisher,” Mr. Adityanath said in a press release.
According to a BJP statement, Radha Mohan Singh, the party’s national vice-president, and other senior leaders expressed their condolences over his death.
Kashyap is the fifth BJP lawmaker to die as a result of the second coronavirus outbreak.
Previously, the infection claimed the lives of Salon legislators Dal Bahadur Kori, Kesar Singh Gangwar (Nawabganj), Ramesh Diwakar (Auraiya), and Suresh Kumar Srivastava (Lucknow West).
