More specifically in this past decade, I’ve come to understand that defining moments are happening all the time, and when we share ourselves and choose vulnerability, we make space for community, hope, help, love, understanding, growth, boundaries, and on and on, not only in ourselves but in the world around us.

There’s nothing new about sharing stories. But what I’m hoping happens here is twofold: 1. You begin to really sink into your life and see that extraordinary things sometimes happen in the mundane moments we don’t think too much about. 2. Sharing those moments that are integral to your center — whether big or small — will help us all see how connected we are with one another and this world.

So, these moments. They can be anything. The letter you got saying you were accepted to college. (Or the rejection letter). Your parents divorcing. Grief. Graduating from high school or college. That pet you rescued. Reconnecting with someone. Meeting a stranger. Learning a new skill.

The possibilities are endless.

You don’t have to be a writer. Do you have a story you want to share but writing makes you nervous or you just don’t have the time or energy? Email me. I’ll ask you questions, you’ll answer them and we’ll write the story together.

But you can be a writer or poet or artist or musician or …. Have something you’ve put together yourself? Email me, and I’ll add it to our story collection.

I’ll add my own defining moments stories, too. (I’ve got a few). But I’m hoping you’ll help build this community, too, friends.
