The creators of Steamy Piggy and other popular restaurants are opening a new Vietnamese-fusion restaurant called VietNom in San Diego’s University City. Franklin Chou-Chan started with a dumpling place in 2017, and by 2022, he had opened several more, including a Latin American and a Tawaiianese restaurant. All are located in bustling areas of San Diego.

His latest venture, VietNom, will take over a spot previously occupied by Mochinut in the Renaissance Towne Center. This restaurant will blend traditional Vietnamese flavors with modern twists. The menu will feature a mix of pho noodle soups, appetizers like spring rolls, and unique drinks. You can expect to find everything from Thai tea to sparkling yuzu lemonade.

Chou-Chan is known for his diverse and successful restaurants. Each one offers something different, from Chinese dumplings to Latin American dishes. VietNom promises to continue this trend with its innovative Vietnamese cuisine.

VietNom aims to be a hit in University City. With various dishes and drinks, it’s set to offer a fresh take on Vietnamese food. This restaurant adds to Chou-Chan’s impressive lineup and promises an exciting dining experience.
