A Poem

~

There was a time
we were at base,
getting ready,
to move with pace.

Climbing up
is no easy task,
be bold and brave,
steadily with no ask.

Heavy weight begins
to slowly pull us down,
but head upstream
and we’ll not drown.

Taking a look back
how far we’ve climbed,
a brisk brief break,
to recompose time.

The curves and paths
that abruptly distracts,
merely does anything,
but remember its facts.

Our struggles
will soon be paved,
within our hearts,
dearly engraved.

Almost near the peak,
do not slow down,
settlement is present
and is always around.

But fear no more
for we are safe,
a serenity, a promise
to won’t be waif.
