I want all of us to remember that we can choose to focus on the little sparks of kindness, patience, and forgiveness

I started reading Robin Sharma’s new book “The Everyday Hero Manifesto”. Sharma and I go way back to a special moment for me.

Many years ago during the dark days of my depression, I rediscovered his book “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” at the library. I heard rumblings about the book, but never read it. It was obvious in hindsight however that the universe threw me a life jacket.

Reading his book set me on the correct path, it didn’t “fix” me but I started “walking”. Years later, I reflect back on how impactful that moment was for me.

So, it was only natural to read his new book and suddenly there was an old idea that I never wrote down that somehow “re-gestated”. I wanted to discuss everyday heroes over a podcast but it never materialised. I actually still have texts about this idea with several friends.

Then it hit me, maybe writing about everyday “heroes” should be a Fiftytwo250 project?

Well then… welcome to “Heroes — A Fiftytwo250 Project”. It’s a blog similar to Fiftytwo250 where I write about someone I witnessed or encountered (without using their names) that made an impact on me, no matter how small… in.. you guessed it… 250 words or less.

I want all of us to remember that we can choose to focus on the little sparks of kindness, patience, and forgiveness that imbues us the courage to keep moving forward in the darkest of times.
