Parks Across the Globe

Parks are one of the greatest creations of mankind. They’re so good that a network allowed someone to create a whole television series about them. You can walk around and introspect, or it can be the dumping place for your whiny children. Either way, you’ll be getting some much-needed rest & relaxation. Here is a compilation of my favorite parks across the world:

Home of the most uncomfortable benches on the planet

Edgewater Park, CA

This is arguably the most suburban place in the world. You can sit and observe angsty tweens on skateboards or a total of three ducks loudly snacking in the pond. Roam around for a couple of hours and you will eventually get to know most of the small town’s population. There are benches around every corner, designed with uncomfortably sharp right angles and the hardest cement known to mankind.

Romair Bearden Park, NC

Before you get excited, no one’s seen a bear here in nearly twenty years. The last person to catch a glimpse was my ageing grand-uncle, two days before his cataract surgery. It’s still a fantastic place for a picnic date. Scenic surroundings and multiple playgrounds ensure that you and your wards will remain entertained for days.

Jogger’s Park, MH

The nomenclature is slightly misleading since people in this park brisk-walk at best. It is perfect for a decadent and hazy summer afternoon. You and your pals can grab ice-creams from the just-around-the-corner parlor. Lounge around in the vast green lawns that are perpetually and inexplicably always damp.

There’s always going to be things that need to get done all the time in the real world. But it’s wonderful to take a little break and head out into the domesticated unknown.
