Don’t forget to wear your glasses

Like any other test, driving tests will inevitably make you question everything you’ve ever known. Also like any other test, all you really need to do is not lose your cool and have a cheat sheet in place.

One of the best tips is to show up before time at the venue. If you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of the kind of test the others are going through. If not, you can always take a look at the terrified faces of all the other test-givers and see the the relative level of your fear subside.

Let it roll. Being extra careful may lead you to stall and sputter in the middle of the road, misleading the instructor into thinking you’re a total novice. And you are most definitely not a total novice. Don’t hold back; pretend you’re in the car with a good friend for a fun and safe time.

There will be traffic on the road. There will be people and cars and vendors, occasionally a cow. It really isn’t their duty to move for you, so make sure to anticipate and steer away from obstructions. Try not to drive into any large water bodies.

The most valuable skill that you will pick up from driving is how to fight through confusing situations with complete blind, unearned confidence.
