🐞 How to Fix the Error “VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible” 🖥️
👍 In today’s video I’m going to tell you how to fix the error «VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Workstation can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard» which may appear when you start a VMware virtual machine. After another update for Windows 10, the VMware program stopped working and shows the error saying “VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible.” It happened because of the changes in account protection, and in this video, we will analyze the problem and offer an effective solution.

✔️ Type the following commands: bcdedit /create {0cb3b571–2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} /d “DebugTool” /application osloader bcdedit /set {0cb3b571–2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} path “\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\SecConfig.efi” bcdedit /set {bootmgr} bootsequence {0cb3b571–2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} bcdedit /set {0cb3b571–2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} loadoptions DISABLE-LSA-ISO, DISABLE-VBS bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off After that, restart the computer and open the virtual machine. Now that the changes have been made, it should start without any errors.
✔️ Open the Registry Editor by pressing the shortcut Win+R and typing “regedit” in the Run window. To do it, navigate to the section HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard. Create a new value with the name EnableVirtualizationBasedSecurity. Assign the value data “0”.
✔️ To disable Credential Guard in Windows Defender, open the following section in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA. Create a new DWORD value with the name LsaCfgFlags. To disable this component, assign the value data “0”. After that, restart the computer and check if the program works properly. Now you know how to fix the error “VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible.”
