The combination of music , performance, pyrotechnics, art and entertainment make festivals and concerts worth going to. With rising demand for one-of-a-kind experiences, entertainment companies are starting to explore new avenues. In fact, Augmented reality is the latest technology for artists and stage designers to experiment with.
In Myanmar, there was the first evolution of music concert including AR. Bunny Phyoe, Burmese singer, is best known as for his Pop Music, celebrated his concert, Dreamworld 2020 at Yangon Gallery in February 14,2020. It seems like he was viewing things through a different divergent that he wanted to give a new experience to his fans during D20 with his AR app. His app has three features and can record the AR scene in live.
First one is AR ticket that is before beginning the live show , his fans can scan Bunny’s logo on the back of D20 tickets for the live Eta countdown to appear D20 Hover Car Hologram will appear on it.
AR Venue is the GPS based AR that based on Yangon Gallery where the show is celebrated. When users move the camera up to the sky, they will observe the spinning Bunny’s Dreamworld Planet which is created in real-time lighting with sun direction. It is located at the top of Yangon Gallery and users can watch it from everywhere since the show day. The main one is Live Experience during the concert. After showing the intro video of concert, Dreamworld 2020 planet appears on the screen users could point and scan it that will appear on stage LED and witness the unexpected.
The Concept is that D20 Hover Car in intro video is cruising around the space and run into portal. The fact is stage LED screen open the portal and virtual car jumped out to the stage appearing as the real D20 Hover car built on stage. His fans could be listening his music and performance during the show while their phones were being pointed the stage and they get the feel of Dreamworld Environment around them. His fans can take photo and video with AR Integrated Live Concert. Though Bunny Phyoe did or did not get down with technology and its impact on Myanmar Music before, it’s clear he knows the importance of evolving with his fanbase. It would be the evolution and future of Music Concert.
