Response to ”Introducing the Next-Generation Autonomous Sensing System ”

They have created a new generation of Autonomous Sensing System. In his article, he mentioned about 4D LiDAR(light detection and ranging) which simultaneously measuring dense position and dense velocity.

I think this system will be used in the future cars. I think they bring up a cool idea of how the sensors system should work and combine all these benefits into one system.

Here is a quote that he described how the system can receive precise data from their sensors, he said, “The system uses the spectrum of invisible light to measure the environment but operates similar in principle to the way Radar uses radio frequency to measure its surroundings.” (Rezk, 2018) Because of spectrum of invisible light are more accurate and easy to receive back.

Therefore, they can apply the system into car producers.As he mentioned in the article, their system is “immune to interference.” (Rezk, 2018) To be specific, they design these sensors in different way compare to LiDAR systems today. Additionally, even can pretend interference from sunlight.

However, he did not mention about the cost when put into real producing process. It is still too early for company to lower the cost of product, because making or designing a new product like a sensory systems need tons of resources to polish the final product. At the beginning of this product, it is really hard for a company to lower their price and produce for car companies. I think they still need a long way to go and develop more advanced technology, so we will be using them one day!
