Response to “Human errors account for more than 90% of the car accident”

This post has a similar topic with mine which is self-driving car. Especially, in his post, he wrote about how high the car accident rate were made by human errors. (Li,2018) He listed the data that there are hundred thousands of people died from car accidents and human takes the responsibility of 94% of car accidents in real life. These tragedies are made by human beings.

Therefore, we need some changes about ourselves. He brings up the concept of self-driving cars, which is also what I wrote about. He listed what is a self-driving car, and how self-driving car is better than today’s cars.

Basic idea of a self-driving car.

Here are three main points in his post.

• Self-driving cars are smart.
• Obey traffic rules
• Expectation of future

However, he only mentioned these points but he did not write too much about three points.

I think he can add more detailed about the self-driving cars.

For example, self-driving cars are smart because they are made by the combination of hardware and software.

• Hardwares are completed by cameras, sensors, high-performance computer and the car.
• On the software side, there are lots of algorithms, data analysis, and using machine learning which gives computer the ability to improve by itself.

Because of the combination of these main parts, the car are able to be self-driving. In my point of view, the basic of self-driving car is data. It’s Big Data, which means a lot of data. Data for using to run algorithms, analyze solutions, and let the car to make the best decision based on millions of cases in its database. Therefore, self-driving cars can be safe and easy for human beings to use in the future.
