He said in the book, “As automation technologies become more complicated and more interconnected, with a welter of links and dependencies among software instructions, databases, network protocols, sensors, and mechanical parts, the potential sources of failure multiply” (Nicholas, 2014)

His statement is negative, as we can tell. He thinks the way people are wanting technologies will bring new problems, because technologies will be very complicated and indeed will become a failure in human development. Because of using various technologies in the one place will give more possibilities to fail in some point. The world will be connect by network, it is the internet of things, which means anything in the whole world can be connected by the internet. So, a little change in this side may cause a huge difference in another side of the whole network.

In a series of progress, a small mistake will lead to a catastrophic chain of breakdowns. This point is essential for the production of self-driving cars, because if the system is messed up, the whole world will be in chaos. The result of using high tech is meaningless. For example, in a programming program, if you have a tiny bug in there, the program might not run at all. Although you got most of them correct, you still cannot get the result you want because of the small mistake you made.

I hope the world will be changed in a good way, whatever it will be, I think technology will help people to enjoy this beautiful world.
