How HeyJobs uses technology for triple positive impact on people, companies and society

This is our vision at HeyJobs.
By using cutting-edge technology and data models, we connect the right talent with the right companies. To date, we have already created more than 20'000 hires. But such large numbers sometimes overshadow what is really important: the human stories behind our product and the true impact we have on society.
Why do I write about this today?
At our company’s summer outing, I talked about 4 individuals whom we helped find the right job in the midst of this years’ pandemic. The feedback from my team afterwards was overwhelmingly positive and I realised that we do not share these stories often enough.
So, here we go:
Kristina, a single mom with 3 kids who, through HeyJobs, became a nursery teacher in a town in Saxony at the beginning of April. At a time when risk groups had to go into quarantine and parents desperately hoped for people like Kristina to help daycares to stay open.
Philipp, a mechanic who had worked in various jobs over the years but, through HeyJobs, was hired as a mechanic at a company renowned as the world’s leader in building ventilators. He quite literally helps keep patients alive that wrangle with COVID-19.
Luigi, who had left his indoors warehousing job at the world’s largest online retailer and, through HeyJobs, scored a job as a bicycle messenger finally working outdoors again. He helped e-commerce companies to cope with the customer demand in those intense months.
Ahmed, who came to Germany from Egypt in 2016 to do his masters in Biotechnology and, through HeyJobs, was hired at a company in Rostock that is a world leader in genetic diagnostics for rare diseases. When COVID hit in spring, they developed a novel test that is currently used at many airports to detect carriers of COVID in a matter of hours.
The stories moved me and motivated me deeply. They made me realize that we are having a triple impact everyday:
- By helping talent find the right job to live a fulfilling life
- By helping companies find the right talent to grow their business
- By helping society to profit from “luxuries” such as Kindergarten, e-Commerce, life-saving ventilators and genetic diagnostics — even in the midst of a pandemic
We would not have made that happen without our R&D team of machine learning engineers, data scientists, web engineers and product owners.
A team that, through entrepreneurship, drive, teamwork and professional excellence, has an impeccable impact on society.
We are already helping thousands of people find the right job to live a fulfilling life every month. Yet we are just getting started: only 2% of the German and 0.3% of the European workforce is using HeyJobs today.
