Instagram is a valuable channel for any social media strategy. The unfortunate thing about Instagram is that it is still very much a mobile first platform. That means that you still can’t upload media to Instagram via the web browser.

However, I recently discovered a workaround that allows you to upload pictures to the Instagram feed and stories through your computer.

I did a screen recording to walk you through step by step on how you can accomplish this.

Video Walkthrough

Step by Step Guide

Step 1: Log in to Instagram.com on your browser

Step 2: Right click on the Instagram page and select “inspect”

Step 3: On the top left, select the mobile device that you want to render Instagram in and hit refresh

Step 4: Use Instagram like you would on mobile (make sure that your photos are in .jpg to upload via the browser)

I hope you enjoyed this short tutorial and that this saves you time from having to transfer images to your mobile just so you can upload to Instagram. Hope this saves you time!
