Welcome to the first of many posts in a series dedicated to promoting underground producers and beats.

For the foreseeable future we’ll be running these weekly posts to help promote independent producers and their beats. It’s ridiculously hard to get your music heard these days so hopefully these small but straight to the point blog posts will help those included as well as building a community of musicians who can help each other grow. We’ll be including anything from the old-school boom bap style, lo-fi, trap to anything we feel suits the series. We’re placing an emphasis on inclusion, community and growth rather than separation or hostility. Although the focus isn’t on ‘purist’ Hip-Hop we hope that the diverse range of beats will add something extra for everyone involved.

Every week we’ll pick our favourite 5 beats from those sent in to our Facebook page, e-mail or any that we find throughout our general hunt for new music and share them with you all!

Bobby Ryu — palm trees, cool breeze

First up we have UK-based producer Bobby Ryu, also known as Triklopz, has plenty of hidden gems we could have shared, however, ‘Palm trees, cool breeze’ so effortlessly transports you through a relaxing, late night summer journey, despite the fact its freezing and nearly time for Christmas. An extremely talented producer with a unique style, who has plenty of beats that’ll have you bopping your head. Be sure to check out the Bandcamp link below to listen to his Triklopz release; Tangerine Schemes.

Kidstrange — alottogive

Detroit-based Kidstrange is another producer to follow closely, whether it be hip-hop or experimental electronica, he’s got it all. Short but sweet, ‘alottogive’ caught our eye through its dreamy strings and stripped-back approach (Released on his ‘so much’ album in January earlier this year). Eerie vocal samples fit the classic hip-hop vibe perfectly and I don’t think we’ll be the only ones hoping we hear more from him in the future.

Jas0nbeats — Astro

Another UK-based beatmaker joins the line-up this week with his dark beat ‘Astro’. A spooky, mangled vocal sample intrigues whilst he builds the tension with bouncing hi-hats and a bassline to die for, until the atmosphere reaches yet another level with the introduction of the occasional chiptune-esque chords. Another short but sweet diamond we found this week thanks to TMP beats, a skilled producer in his own right.

Repulsion — Another Day

You may have heard of US-based Repulsion and automatically think of no-holds-barred Dubstep tracks, but as is the case with all of the producers we’ve featured in Shout Out: 001, he’s got plenty of other skills, and genres, up his sleeve. ‘Another Day’ is an introduction to one of the many imaginative, detailed worlds that Repulsion carves up on a regular basis, regardless of tempo or vibe. Soothing, fun melodies are combined with trap-style hats and snares topped-off with sprinkles of catchy saxophone cameos.

MoodBeatz Productions — Grave

The final addition to this weeks Shout Out arrives in the form of a mellow trap beat from MoodBeatz. An emotional piano melody sets the tone for this one, occasionally pitched down to ignite a more sombre mood. As is always the case with her beats, the drums are on point, filled with polyrhythms, interesting percussion and a bassline that leaves the perfect amount of space for an MC to build a flow around. If you like reggae, be sure to check out her Soundcloud for some serious roots vibes.

Big up to all of the producers featured, everyone who recommended beats and anyone pursuing their true passion. It’s hard work but together we can help each other!

Be sure to follow us on all social media platforms @hhbeatspromo for a chance to be featured in next weeks post.
