Conversational commerce has been a hot topic at Shopify this summer. This is no surprise — you know how conversing with Kit can help your business. This month we look at how Shopify lets you chat with your customers as easily as you chat with Kit.
Shopify Ping — for all your conversations
Did you know that Ping is the best place to chat to Kit? You get additional functionality and better ad previews than when you chat to Kit via SMS or Messenger. To chat to Kit with Ping you just need to download the app and activate Kit. which you’ll see at the top of the conversations screen. You can read more about this here.
You can also install both Apple Business Chat and Shopify Chat from within Ping. This will install a small chat button on your online store which customers can use to chat to you. All their questions will arrive and be answerable from Shopify Ping. We have a great blog post about using chat on your store.

New Kit Skills
“Skills” are things Kit can do for you when you have another app installed that works with Kit. So for example, if you use the ‘Bulk Image Edit’ app (or use one of the 16 other apps that have integrated with Kit) Kit will analyse when the best time is to prompt you to add alternate text to your images to help Google index your page, or when to add automatic image optimization to increase your loading times. All of those things can then be done for you by simply saying “Yes” to Kit’s suggestions.
Kit is now integrated with the Searchanise’s Smart Search & Instant Search app. Kit will message you with recommendations to pin your most popular products to the top of search results and add product recommendation blocks to your home page.
