For All Mankind

Jeff Christie wrote the song “Yellow River” and offered it to a famous group. But The Tremeloes refused to record it. What a shame and arrogance! They would regret it very soon, because Christie himself published the song and it became a huge hit. People hum it still today.
Unfortunately, there was only one further successful song called “San Bernadino” as a subsequent recording, so the group became a “two hit wonder”.
Christie had great potential for writing good and powerful songs, but they all were lost on LPs. The best piece — I’m sure about that, was “For All Mankind”, the tremendous title track of their second LP. This one belongs to the category of pop songs that will always be remembered — like “Stairway To Heaven” or “Brothers In Arms”. But it’s beyond my comprehension why it hasn’t gained the same or even more fame and glory.
The song wants to raise our awareness for a new and better life, after having suffered the terrors of war.
And so it’s a real strong and unforgettable hymn that has a very familiar message for you: believe in common sense!

Song.
