Day 16: Monterey and San Luis Obispo

We left a few peeps from our tour in San Fran today and hit the road down the California Coast to Monterey and San Luis Obispo. Our team have been wonderful and I’m so sad to see them leave. I definitely need to head back to San Fran and spend a bit more time there in the future, seems like a very cool place.
Monterey was famous for its sardine canning industry back in the day, but it very quickly ran dry with over fishing of the little critters. So now it’s just a tourist ghost town it’s quite strange.
There are bits and pieces of old buildings like this one that have murals on them, it was quite a pretty wee area to have lunch at.
