A blue-painted exaltation
The song of a heart beating in an old church in Archita, Romania, before sunset, 18/09/2015
Bounce off blue wooden banisters,
my voice! Please get tangled
in the pipes of the organ,
who have felt the touch of time.
The instrument now awakened
by hands that haven’t.
Rejoice, blissful echo!
Travel through the particles of ‘then’ that inhabit the air!
Return to me with whiplash-hands
and joy thousandfold.
As we exalt the notes into an infinite spiral,
wading over balustrades of chipped wood,
dust and pride:
let us create a forever-moment,
a vibrant memory: blue in gold in blue.
Before we come down the wooden steps to marvel
over the enchantment of this place
that is ours now,
for this day and maybe,
if the echo of our wonder
lingers on,
for many days to come.
Until someone else fills the halls with light.
Until then, farewell.
