Good design is honest.

Dieter Rams, one of the most influential industrial designers of the last 50 years, has had a truly remarkable impact on the overall concept of product design as we know it today. His belief in being honest with your product or service should be taken into strong consideration by today’s company founders. In many cases, this is a nearly 180-degree turn for modern founders. You see, when founders start out, they either intend to solve problems through new technology or with a new business model (rarely both at the same time). For almost two decades, the business model for the most successful digital companies has been to monetize their user’s data by providing the product or service for nearly free of charge.

Fortunately, this is about to change.

Now, the GDPR in Europe, and similarly intended privacy protection legislation in other parts of the world…
