Viziflu is an open source tool for visualizing infectious disease forecasts. With help from our friends at DarkCharm, the IQT Viziflu team (George Sieniawski, Dylan George and myself) made a short animation that tells the story of why we built Viziflu and also, how we adapted it for COVID-19 forecasts.

Viziflu makes it easy to compare forecasts from multiple models to understand predictions about the timing of “peak week,” the week in which the highest number of cases will occur.

Viziflu shows when flu is likely to peak, according to forecasts generated by multiple crowd-sourced models.
A color gradient shows each model’s predicted probably that flu will peak in each week of the flu season.
