After just a little over a year in business, Jim Hatter has scooped two awards in a prestigious competition.

The trophies and certificates Jim Hatter won at Alan Mak MP’s Small Business Awards.

His company - Ginga Auto Body Repairs — won best local tradesperson and personality of the year at MP Alan Mak’s Havant Small Business Awards.

He was also runner-up for the best new business award.

Jim, 40, Hayling Island, said: ‘I was absolutely overwhelmed, I didn’t expect to be nominated for one, so let alone three nominations and coming away with two awards — I was blown away.’

Jim started his business 16 months ago after years of experience in garages, and with success so early on, he plans to continue his excellent customer service.

He added: ‘I am surprised how well it has gone in such a small space of time, I try to treat people with lots of respect and deliver great service.’

One stand-out feature of Ginga Auto Body Repairs is the convenience of it, they are all mobile repairs and he goes to the customer at their homes.

He was surprised that he won ‘best local tradesperson’ and said that he didn’t expect it all, explaining that a lot of local tradespersons were also nominated across all different fields.

Jim says that he will continues to learn every single day and will work harder and harder this year, and eventually will expand his business.
