A Steep man will run a Boxing Day marathon around Petersfield dressed as a piece of broccoli.

Starting at The Harrow Inn, Jhon Cosgrove will be pacing the streets of Petersfield to fundraise £1,000 for a five-day bike ride around India.

His bike trip will involve 40 people and cover 250 miles in an attempt to raise awareness of Veganuary.

Veganuary is a charity that encourages people to go vegan for January and claims that veganism is one of the most effective ways to reduce the suffering of animals, help the planet and improve personal health.

Jhon, who has been vegan for 11 years, said: “I already run 40 to 50 miles a week but the marathon is going to be a challenge because of the costume.”

On the day it will be just Jhon running but he hopes to be supported by friends and family.
