A Remembrance Service to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War was held at the Guildhall Square in Portsmouth today.

Veterans, church leaders, scout groups and members of the public gathered around the Guildhall steps to pay their respects.

Portsmouth City Council leader Gerald Vernon-Jackson said: ‘Portsmouth always does Remembrance Sunday very well but this is the biggest crowds I’ve ever seen.’
