Remembering 9/11

20 Years Later, We Remember

I was asleep when it started.

The first thing I remember is my phone ringing. It was my mom and my brother, and they were on a merged call. It was approximately 6:30 am here in California.

My mother’s voice: “Honey, the country is under attack.”

My brother: “Turn on the tv.”
