Bubble gum content
I have a friend who calls Top 40 music ‘bubble gum music’. Paints a picture, right? It’s tasty. Sweet. Fun. Immediately satisfying. Sometimes refreshing...
But the flavor’s gone in 49 seconds.
Just as there‘s a lot of played-out, auto-tuned music in the world, there’s also a lot of bubble gum content online. And as the edges of the internet expand, we seem to be stepping in more of it.
You know what I’m talking about... Content that seems delicious enough. It’s enticing. Hits those emotional hot buttons. But as soon as you start reading, watching, or listening, the flavor goes away, pronto. And all that’s left is this taste in your mouth of bitter nothingness as you search desperately for a trash can (or delete folder) to spit it out into.
Here’s the question of the day… What can you create that people will be able to chew on and enjoy for years to come?
Now, let’s be real here. You can’t make this stuff all the time. But it’s worth shooting for creating something more enjoyably consumable than bubble gum.
