Let’s do this thing, October (seeya, September)

October. Ahhhh. Summer is finally over. The nights are cool. The leaves are changing. I’m about to chop (or buy, if I get lazy) large amounts of wood for our new wood stove. Things are good.

As many of you know, we’re moving. I thought it would be easy because we’ve had a full month to move out of our old place and into our new one. But all this has meant is that we’ve been living out of two homes that are half-empty and completely destroyed.

Today was the last day on our old place (sniff, sniff), but now we can totally focus on our new one (hooray). Appliances and carpets are on the way in the coming days and cabinets are soon to follow.

What a mess. I’m sorry if I haven’t responded to your responses/notes, but this is why. I hope to be back to my fully responsive self in a week or two.

I hope you’re making things comfy in your home. This is kinda what fall is about for me. I don’t know if it’s my Danish heritage or what, but I’m huge on a concept the Danes call hygge. Read about it here, but it’s all about making things warm, inviting, and soulful.

As far as the writing goes, I feel a more spiritual vibe inviting me forward. I always tend to back off of it when I feel it, but this time, I’m stepping into it a bit more. I hope you’re enjoying it. More to come, it seems.

That said, here’s the 3 most read posts for September

So, I’m not going to go with ‘most recommended’. For one, I think that stat is kinda nonsense. This month, we’re going with posts where the highest number of people actually read the whole post. Enjoy…

Medium-ers I’m vibing with this month

To keep with tradition, here’s a few fellow Medium-ers I’m loving at the moment. I hope you’ll check out their work:)

mark-john clifford (his Life of Papa publication is one of my favorites)

Kate Stone Matheson (is hilarious and dangerously insightful — in a good way)

Aura Wilming (is brilliant)

I hope your October goes swimmingly. Grab a PSL for me (only 2 pumps because that stuff is potent).
