Like changing a tire

It’s crazy how long we can carry toxic beliefs throughout our lives if we’re not careful. Some of them even follow us to our grave.

They’re like leeches or any kind of blood-sucking parasite. If we remain unconscious of them, they can thrive off of the host body of our psyche until we’re drained.

But when we realize that, just like with changing a tire, we can easily switch out an old, outmoded, toxic, limiting thought, with a shiny, solid, life-affirming, new one, this becomes less and less a problem. When self-awareness grows, we can examine the damage and easily make repairs.

That’s the whole meaning behind New Thought. You’re just taking an old thought and replacing it with a new one. Easy squeezy. Right?

P.S. I believe that creativity is the ultimate form of new thought. In order to be creative, you have to think something that you’ve never thunk before if you want to express something new — be it a painting, a written work, a dance, or an enlightened interaction with a customer.

Changing tires. New Thought. Creativity. Same difference.
