An action film doesn’t need much. Yet, “MI: Fallout” manages to bring something that feels fresh but really, it’s a classic Hollywood action film in essence.

Tom Cruise has become a bit of a laughing matter because of his limited acting capabilities. At the risk of sounding like a fangirl, I don’t get what more he can do in a film like this.

I make a connection between Tom Cruise and Charlie Chaplin actually. Even though they work in completely different genres and intellectual depth, they are watched by the masses, loved globally, have insane dedication combined with perfectionism and do their own stunts.

People just don’t give Tom Cruise enough credit. He is more than just a dumb action star.

The film has some of the best action scenes of this year. It’s nice to see Harvey Keitel passionate about a project again (unlike Justice League for example). He proves he brings a lot to the table when he is interested in the project.

The espionage part of the film was fun. There are a lot of double crosses that turn into triple crosses and so forth. I can’t really say it was written cleverly but if you just go with the flow, it makes the plot a lot more enjoyable.

“MI: Fallout” is one of the best action films of the year. Don’t miss it if you’re fan of the genre.
