Here at LINER we’re constantly striving to make the most amazing highlighting service in the World (and Mars). Which is why we updated our service based on your wonderful feedback.

1. Pre-Login Highlighting Demo

We found that encouraging users to signup to LINER “before” they even use the app was too aggressive. So we added a short highlight demo tutorial before the signup/login page to provide a sneak-preview of LINER. Simply highlight a single sentence to proceed to the login screen.

2. Highlight in the LINER App

Based on your feedback we kept noticing that people were visiting the LINER app to start highlighting (When you actually need to visit Safari, Flipboard, and other apps to start highlighting).

Now when you press the LINER icon to highlight an article, it will first automatically “Save the Article” in LINER and secondarily provide the option to “Highlight Now”.

  • Save the Article — Highlight the article later. Open the LINER app and click on the article you want to highlight.
  • Highlight Now — Start highlighting the article right now. Clicking Highlight Now turns highlight mode ON.

You can also add articles directly in the LINER app by clicking on the (+) button. Simply add the URL you want to highlight in the input box. The (+) button automatically brings in URL domains you have copied as well.

3. Automatic Select/Drag Highlighting

We also decreased a step while highlighting. We found there are simply too many steps when it come to highlighting on your mobile. Which is why we implemented automatic select/drag highlighting.

  • Original Highlighting Experience: Before you needed to long press a word, select/drag the text, then tap a color.
  • New Automatic Select/Drag Highlighting: Now you need to long press a word, select/drag the text, and we automatically highlight the text for you. One less step, for easier highlighting.
