Custom Field Dropdowns

Ok, so we always think you’re going to love our newest feature. Or, we hope you do! :) And, in case you missed it, we’ve been introducing some pretty cool features lately around Tags like NOT tags and Company tags.

But, this one has definitely been a frequent request for a long time. We’re pretty sure it’s going to be super exciting for many Highrise users…

Dropdowns for custom fields!

Highrise now supports pre-defined values for your custom fields so you can restrict the choices going forward. We have all kinds of uses already for custom field dropdowns — now our Yes/No fields are just Yes and No, rather than 1 and 0 and True and False and all kinds of other weird values. And we no longer have to look up our deal custom sub-statuses that the team agreed to use — because now they are all right there in the dropdown!

These pre-defined constraints make managing your Highrise account so much easier now. You no longer have to email everyone on the team to stop using the wrong code or word for the custom field. Just set these constraints up.

It also makes Filtering your contacts a ton easier because the choices of what to filter by are already shortcuts in the filter:

Here’s a quick demo on using custom field dropdowns and setting up your pre-define values:

Note: if you already had ‘bad’ or other data in that field, adding pre-defined values won’t impact your existing data. It will just restrict it going forward. This is true for your imports as well as regular data entry. But, if you want to clean it up, a bulk import can do the trick, but it’s not something that’s required right off the bat.

We hope you love this one as much as we do. Have a great week!
