A great mountain if you want to get a flavour of Kuju National Park on a slightly shorter hike than the others. It’s mostly quite gentle, but gets steep for the last half an hour to the top. There is also a section of stepping between large rocks, which requires a bit of extra concentration.
Where: Kuju-Aso National Park
Altitude: 1774 m
Duration: 4–5 hours
Car park: Chojabaru Visitor Centre https://goo.gl/maps/AiEsxr82PXJ2
