One of my favourite hikes. After Bogatsuru campsite you walk through a rhododendron tunnel, which is bright pink when they’re in bloom, but magical in the winter too.

Onsen: There is an onsen (with accommodation) called Hokkein Onsen and campsite at Bogatsuru Marsh, approx 1.5 hours from the top of Mt. Taisen. Only accessible by foot.
