Mt. Yufu 由布岳

One of the most famous mountains in Oita, and quite busy as a result. Really accessible, enjoyable walk, with fantastic views over Beppu and Oita and the ocean in one direction, and the inland mountains in the other. Two peaks — left hand one only for experienced hikers as it involves chains and some dangerous sections, but you get the top to yourself and a great feeling of satisfaction! There is plenty of information elsewhere online about this walk.
