Automatic Drawing

This was quite a fun experience! I decided to perform this activity with my mother, as I knew she would take this task seriously. We began by finding a comfortable seating position so we could both focus. Once we situated our legs in a way that helped steady the paper, we grabbed the red-colored pencil. I wanted to use this bold color, as I knew it would show up brighlty on the white paper. We began moving the pencil with our eyes closed and slowly the pencil “took over”. When we were finished with the experience, I was surprised at how interesting the piece looked! I definitely believe that I was successful in creating a unique work of art. The circular motions my mom and I performed are evident in the piece, and the red coloring helps to define the lines created. As the instructions stated, we relaxed and let the pencil take control!
