On August 1, Tim Kaine returned to his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, after spending 10 days traveling across the country as Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential nominee.

The first thing Tim did after arriving home? Stop by a Hillary for Virginia field office (with donuts!) to thank organizers and volunteers, of course.

With less than 100 days to go until the election, Tim thanked the office for working hard to keep our Commonwealth blue in November, talked about how important it is to volunteer — and he left his mark on the office.

Then, Tim took over the Hillary for Virginia Twitter account!

He reminded Virginians that the most exciting thing we can do during this election is get involved

… gave a special shout out to someone who Virginians have known and loved for years …

… and shared something new that he’s learned about Virginia.

Meanwhile, people were arriving at Huguenot High School for Tim’s first hometown rally as the vice presidential nominee.

There were even some local celebrities in the crowd.

When Tim took the stage, Huguenot High’s gym was packed with excited supporters.

He delivered a special message to the people of Virginia …

… talked about why he’s proud to join Hillary Clinton’s ticket …

… and reminded Virginians that the stakes are higher than ever in this election.

(He’s right, by the way: There’s never been a better time to join us than right now. Sign up for our Weekend of Action!)

After the speech, Tim and Anne shook hands with as many supporters as they could.

And as he was preparing to head back out on the trail, Tim said goodbye to the Commonwealth — for now.
