Hims & Hers announces partnership with Ochsner Health System
Today we’re announcing a partnership with Ochsner Health System, one of the country’s most innovative healthcare providers, to help patients easily receive care even if their condition is not one we offer access to treatment for through the Hims & Hers platform.
Think about the last time you made a doctor’s appointment. If you’re like the average American, you waited 24 days to get in, took time off work, arranged childcare and received a bill full of surprise fees no one warned you about.
Compare this to other parts of your life — you can trade stocks in your pajamas, order a car with a tap of a button, and compare the price of everything from hotels to plumbers online. We are in more control of our daily lives than ever before, except when it comes to our healthcare.
The U.S. healthcare system is complex and confusing. But it doesn’t have to be that way. At Hims & Hers we believe it’s possible to put you back in charge of your own health and wellness. That’s why we are building a first-class healthcare system that puts people first, meeting or exceeding all the levels of quality of a traditional provider in the categories we serve.
When we launched two years ago, we began with four products to help treat stigmatized conditions that were tough to talk about. Within a month we expanded our offerings and we’re now providing access to medical care and treatment for more than a dozen conditions, with more than 50 products. We enable access to over 200 licensed physicians interacting with thousands of patients a week. Over 1 million medical visits have been completed through our platforms, and we are just getting started.
While we launched by treating highly stigmatized issues such as hair loss and erectile dysfunction, our long-term goal is to provide access to care in minutes for patients across hundreds of conditions. And if you have a condition that can’t be treated through our platforms, we want to make getting an outside appointment as convenient as possible.
Ochsner, a non-profit health care system recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a “Best Hospital”, provides coordinated clinical care across 90 specialties and subspecialties, including through its Digital Medicine Program — a nationally recognized, clinically proven program to virtually manage chronic conditions such as hypertension and type 2 diabetes. Through our collaboration, we will be able to connect Hims & Hers patients with direct access to Ochsner providers and clinical professionals focused on helping patients manage their health and keep their chronic conditions in control. We’ll start by providing this service next year to users in Florida and hope to expand the program to more states before the end of 2020.
There’s enormous potential for us to work with health systems like Ochsner to ensure patients have access to a broad spectrum of high-quality care. But that’s just one way we’ll continue making it easier and more affordable for everyone to get the care they need.
