There’s little more satisfying than seeing your work used in the wild.
Just now, I was scrolling through my social feeds when I saw these photos, which were shared by Allison Bedell—the campaign manager for Hines Digital client and U.S. Senator Deb Fischer. They made me smile, and I wanted to share them with you.
Last Spring, we helped the Deb Fischer campaign refresh the senator’s branding in advance of this year’s elections. It was a really exciting project, and I’m really proud of how the work turned out.
But what I love, in particular, about these photos is how they make that branding work—which was all done remotely and in a digital context—become real and tangible. They shift that visual identity, which we helped design last year, into the real world: onto t-shirts, placards, and parade banners. They’re amazing (to me).
So often, as a digital consultant, my day-to-day work experience can feel abstract and impersonal. When you’re working remotely, there’s the constant risk that you’ll lose focus on the day-to-day, real-world impact of your work. Photos like this help me retain that focus and perspective, and I’m grateful for them.
In the end, good digital consulting is not about graphic design, email copywriting, or fundraising revenue. It’s about building meaningful communities of real human beings, united with one another in pursuit of a common goal. I’m so happy to see that, in Nebraska, our work for Senator Fischer is helping to act as a uniting force for community building on the ground.
