The Hip Hop Caucus is joining Africans Rising, a bold pan-African movement for Justice, Peace, and Dignity. You can join us for the movement’s launch on African Liberation Day, this Thursday, May 25th, 2017.

Stand with the movement by showing your support online this Thursday in just a few steps:

Step #1: Take a photo of yourself or a group wearing RED. Wear something red or have something red in the background of the photo.

Red symbolises the sacrifice and blood spilt by so many before us across Africa for liberation from colonial rule. It signifies the ongoing bleeding of wealth from the continent.

Red is also a reminder that regardless of the country we call home; the religions we embrace; who colonised us and, the languages we might use from that past, all of us have the same red blood.

Step #2: Post on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using#AfricansRising to add your voice to this moment in history .

Step #3: Post a status on your social media that says:

  • I/We am/are standing with a united Africa. I/We am/are Africans Rising for Justice, Peace, and Dignity.”
  • “I/We am/are standing with a united Africa. I/We support Africans Rising for Justice, Peace, and Dignity.”

Step #4: Tag @HipHopCaucus on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram so we can easily share your images.

Then ask your friends to take action too!

Want to take it step deeper? Declare your support of “The Kilimanjaro Declaration” by posting:

“I’m supporting the Africans Rising Movement for Justice, Peace, and Dignity, and support The Kilimanjaro Declaration. I also commit to work that builds a local, national, pan-African and global campaign that is:

Expanding space for civic and political action

Fighting for women’s rights and freedoms across society

Focussing our struggles on the right to Equity and Dignity

Demanding good governance as we fight corruption and impunity

Demanding climate and environmental justice.
