We’re looking for user focused Product Owners to come and join us in our fantastic team. We work on services across government which have real impact on the people that need to use them.

We are looking for Product Owners to work on projects in Manchester, Leeds and Coventry.

Why you should come to work at Hippo Digital

At Hippo Digital we are all about people. We have talented and committed people working for us who enjoy working together to solve real problems.

We have different approaches and backgrounds, but we all have one thing in common — focussing on what people need from a service to add real value.

As a Hippo Product Owner you will

  • Work on important government services
  • Advocate for services and service features, and also call out when things are not needed, or a policy doesn’t work
  • Help teams to prioritise their work by understanding the value it will add to users

What we’re looking for

We want to recruit product owners of all levels of experience. The important thing is to find the right person with the right attitude — we are happy to teach you the skills you need.

You’ll need to:

  • Focus on user needs, and really understand the problem
  • Prioritise the team’s work with logic and clear goals
  • Understand policy intent or organisational goals and ensure the outcomes are achieved
  • Coach and support the team
  • Protect the team by managing people outside of the team
  • Be great at communication — you’re clear with people and explain what is happening and why

We are looking for people with varied backgrounds that can bring different experiences to projects. We have Product Owners at Hippo who are former researchers, designers and technical architects.

We want to increase the diversity of our team to ensure we reflect the people who use the services we design and make. We would love to hear from more Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people who are currently underrepresented in our workforce. We also encourage applications from trans and non-binary people.

I’m happy to meet up and discuss, I’m on twitter @tmikes18
