How do we define the term “innovation”? Speculating the assumptions of
innovations made by the humans to understand design and technology.

‘Innovation’ is a point of discussion in the “tech world’ — we talk about it: how to define it, how important it is, how it is changing the way we work, and so on. Commonly, the ‘innovation discussion’, approaches the topic through the lens of corporation. For instance, How to introduce right processes and technology to enable innovation?
But, how about defining innovation through the lens of humans?

Although much of the discussion of innovation focuses on new products
and technologies, But is innovation what we tell it is ? Innovation is also influenced by the factors like its earlier history, innovator’s point of view, geographical location of these projects, government policies of the particular location, how marketing strategies play an important role in innovation so on and so forth.

All innovations are mostly based on challenging the assumptions made by humans to understand design and technology. This article focuses on my position from the study of looking at innovation through the lens of humans and studying history to understand how innovation at certain place and time influences some other innovation. The role of studying history is one way to add context that will impact your understanding of innovation in a positive way. For instance, in the studio while looking at innovation through the lens of history , came across a lot of information where innovations are a part of something bigger which was used by the US military force and how research laboratories like MIT Lincoln Labs and Bell Labs and their history play a important role in innovation.

According to my perspective, understanding why innovation is important because one must know the actual purpose and history of innovation before it is being used in certain ways . In the studio, we were discussing about how a washing machine is used as a lassi making machine and the assumptions made by humans to understand innovation and technology.

Overall understanding, looking at innovation through the lens of history exclusively. The main goal review was to establish how humans have attempted to understand and portray the innovation and technology connection.
