The Looming Spectre of World War III
Numerous thinkers from journalists and scholars of the 20th century to YouTubers and conspiracy theorists of the 21st century pondered the possibilities of World War III.
Even before the end of World War II, people began to ruminate over the possibilities of another large-scale global conflict.
What would it look like? When would it start? How would it be fought? Who would be involved? What would they be fighting over?
The questions go on and on.
After all of the battles and bloodshed in the first half of the 20th century, World War I and World War II left an indelible mark on almost every corner of the globe, society, and our collective historical memory.
Given the recent global pandemic and international political climate, one can see how some may posit that the Third World War is already upon us. The leads us to ask the question:
