This season the Bulls narrowly missed posting the best record in the International League, but then breezed through the playoffs, culminating with the Triple-A National Championship. The squad won the IL South Division by 15.0 games, before posting a 7–2 mark in postseason play en route to Minor League Baseball’s highest honor.

Trailing 3–1 in the bottom of the fourth inning of the Triple-A National Championship Game, Kean Wong stepped to the plate with the bases loaded. Before you knew it, the Bulls were on top after the second baseman launched a grand slam to right-center field, giving Durham a 5–3 lead. The Bulls would win by that score, making Wong’s blast the decisive blow as the team captured its second Triple-A National Championship title.
