How to Embed PowerApps into Power BI Reports
PowerApps is a great example of Platform as a Service (PaaS). It allows you to create a mobile or tablet app for internal business users that can run on Android, iOS, and Windows. Now, we can embed PowerApps into our Power BI reports using PowerApp’s visualization in the Power BI marketplace. By combining these two applications you get greater analysis and visualization power.
Here’s how we embed PowerApps into a Power BI report:
- Download and login to the Power BI desktop application, click here to download one.
- Click on (…) and select “Import from the marketplace.”
3. Search and add PowerApps visualization to add visuals to the Power BI desktop.
4. Select the PowerApps visual, drag and drop it into the Power BI report page/area. Select your CE environment from the list.
Note: PowerApps from Power BI is not supported right now.
Build your first power app here.
5. Select the available app from the list.
6. Now, your selected power app will load in the Power BI report.
7. Time to publish a Power BI report to the web.
8. Create a dashboard from Power BI reports and then embed the same dashboard to D365 CE as Power BI.
Conclusion: Power BI and PowerApps embedding feature adds great value to digital transformation projects. You can also add a Power BI custom visual to a PowerApps screen. To learn more how to do that just click here.
