Why I joined Hitashi: A Bitcoin Cost Averaging Service
It’s been 3 years since I bought “Mastering Bitcoin” and moved into cryptocurrency development full-time. I was hooked from the start. It was music to my ears listening to Andreas Antonopoulos talk about how anyone could create their own token and exchange it for services. I felt as if nothing could go wrong, so I worked as hard as possible to get enough experience to start my journey. After a couple of weeks of training and some interviews I managed to get my first job as an “Ethereum’’ developer. I got to work first hand on an ICO in a company with more than 200 Million users!! We set the ICO at the end of 2017 and it was a major success, more than 11 Million USD in Ethereum was raised!! It was a dream come true… and then… nothing.
The 2017 crypto bull run left a sour taste in my mouth. On one hand I got to learn a lot about data structures, cryptography, distributed systems, network and economics, and on the other nothing big came out of it and the dream about everyone having their own tokens was nothing but a lie.
But not everything was a waste. There were actually major milestones. Bitcoin and Ethereum were leading the way, making it seem like both projects were the future and the ones to bet on. Bitcoin was the stable project, it had just released the lightning network and kept its promise of being a store of value — like it had the previous 8 years. As for Ethereum, the project was everywhere, creating a token for everything and everybody, from tokens that you could use to go to the dentist, to tokens that could be used to purchase online courses, solar energy, or gamble. If you are reading this and do not have those tokens, do not worry, they went nowhere.
The only case that still holds today is crypto currency as a store of value. Bitcoin is the new gold.
I have since stopped betting on every coin in the hopes that it will dethrone Bitcoin and started acquiring every month at least 100€ worth of Bitcoin. I want to help you invest the same way but the easiest way possible. This is why I joined Hitashi.io.
