Why we’re giving away 5-day passes to those impacted by Trump’s Travel Ban
As many of you may already know, on Friday, January 27th, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that would ban travel from seven Muslim-majority countries for a period of 90 days, as well as suspending any and all refugee entrance for 120 days, effective immediately. As a result, many citizens of the affected countries have been detained and are forced into situations that are unlawful. This immoral attack on religious freedoms and rights is something that the HiVE wholeheartedly disagrees with.
We here at HiVE believe in social justice and do not support the travel ban imposed by President Trump. We believe in values that push for justice, inclusivity, and diversity. We believe in freedom of expression, along with freedom from oppression. Therefore, we have decided to start our own initiative of support; we want to make sure that those affected are getting the right help and encouragement that they need during this time. We are offering a 5 day free pass to all those who have been impacted by Trump’s executive order and hope to be a source of calmness/mental repose, and provide a safe space for those in need.
