A Quiet Place, a film written by John Krasinski, Bryan Woods, and Scott Beck, is a dramatic thriller that was released on April 6, 2018. The plot of the film was originally thought up by Krasinski and brought to life with the help of his two co-writers. Krasinski also stars in the movie alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt. Though, Krasinski did not ask originally ask Blunt to co-star with him in the film, for fear that his own creation would not do her career justice, in the end, he realized he wrote the character of his wife in the movie very similarly to his real-life wife, and no one could have played her better.

The plot of A Quiet Place takes place in a dystopian area that these sort of monster figures have overtaken. The only way to survive is to be absolutely silent. If the monsters can hear anyone, they hunt them down. The film focuses on a family fathered by Krasinski and mothered by Blunt, and their children. The family is clearly one of the last to survive this monster apocalypse, and are living alone in an older home in the middle of farmland. The family is trying their best to survive on minimal resources, and of course, stay completely quiet. However, this is not as easy to do when you are nine months pregnant, as Blunt’s character is in the film, or when you are a young child, as both children are.

This film is stunningly filmed and does an incredible job of keeping the audience enticed, even with the movie being almost completely silent. It is much harder to keep someone’s attention without dialogue, and A Quiet Place does so perfectly. There is never a dull moment in this film, the concept of the storyline is truly fascinating, the acting is superb, and the ending will leave you speechless. A Quiet Place is a must-see for any Krasinski or Blunt fans, or dystopian thriller enthusiasts.
