Letters to EOS voters: introducing new HKEOS
We are excited to announce our new vision and position through rebranding. At HKEOS, one of our focus areas was to give back to the EOS.IO ecosystem by incubating promising EOS.IO projects, such as Lumeos. We leveraged on our networks, technical and business expertise to help a number of early stage EOS.IO projects. This experience offered our team the opportunity to sharpen our skills within the dApp ecosystem; also allowing us to identify and resolve issues that dApp teams are encountering. With that experience, we have decided our future and our contribution to the network is better served by taking a more direct role in the dApp ecosystem. Our future is in BUIDLing meaningful decentralized applications ourselves. We are excited to share our new vision and mission with the voters in the EOS ecosystem.
Our Past Footsteps
We’ve been contributing to technology, incubating dApps, and growing community in Hong Kong. Below is a summary of our footsteps.
- First EOS debug guide/documentation (April)
- Proposed the Ghostbusters security approach (infrastructure, launching, and meshing scripts)
- Built bloks.io, UI/UX fully designed by Hugo.
- Built EOS Test Cave, the first automated testing suite for EOS.IO contracts. It has now been integrated into Block.one’s automated test suites.
- Built the Worker Proposal System (contract and portal) for the community voluntarily.
- Maintaining the EOS-Mainnet repository
- Started one of the first dApp incubators for EOS. Incubating and advising early-stage companies including Uncloak, L2, and Lumeos.
- Consulting later stage companies such as AuDigent (Data Management Platform).
- Partnered with EOS Cannon and EOSYS to start DIA (dApp Incubation Association) in order to empower those building on EOS.
- Only BP truly building community in Hong Kong (bi-monthly Meetups with 50+ attendees, Telegram group, etc)
- Informational content generation (“What you missed in EOS” periodicals, article translations)
- Numerous community meetups
HKEOS: Launchpad of decentralized Application
Blockchain is becoming the backbone of web/mobile applications enabling decentralization and improved transparency. In this era, we envision ourselves as “the launchpad of dApps”. Our core competency is in the knowledge and passion toward the EOS mainnet and EOSIO software. With this knowledge, we will be growing together with RocketBC, which is a dApp BUIDLing vehicle. We look forward to forging synergies between HKEOS and RocketBC, that will benefit the EOS.IO community as a whole.
Core Value
Network Security
Starting from participating in the first EOS testnet, HKEOS has been dedicated to maintaining the EOS-Mainnet repository.
To ensure the security of the EOS mainnet, we have built the EOS Test Cave, the first automated testing suite for EOS.IO contracts. It has now been integrated into Block.one’s automated test suites.
Tech Support
HKEOS has been providing technical support for dApp projects such as Uncloak. We started one of the first dApp incubators for EOS, incubating and advising early-stage companies including Uncloak, L2, and Lumeos. Also, we have been consulting later stage companies such as AuDigent (Data Management Platform); helping establish sound foundations for the future of these projects.
dApp development
The journey toward decentralized applications does not stop at incubation. HKEOS is supporting RocketBC to build usable and meaningful dApps on the EOS mainnet. With past experiences with various dApp projects, we will grow into the launchpad of decentralized applications.
Call for voter participation
Why you have to vote for HKEOS
We hope to present 2 clear reasons for HKEOS to win the votes of EOS token holders. There are two clear reasons why EOS holders have to vote for HKEOS:
- First, keen eyes on network security.
In case of emergency situations, HKEOS is always ready to jump on and collaborate with other tech-based block producers to resolve the issue that happened to the mainnet. Throughout various development contributions including the management of the mainnet Github repository, we have trained ourselves to be ready 24 hours with globally dispersed developers. - Second, direct value-add to the mainnet ecosystem.
There has been a general assumption within different blockchain communities that the value and even price of certain blockchain can be determined by its usage, meaning how many useful dApps are connected to the chain. In that sense, by building meaningful dApp projects on the EOS mainnet, we are directly adding value to the price of EOS as well as the value of the entire network.
We are thrilled to continue this exciting journey with the EOS community. To better deliver what we promise to the community, we need support from the community. We would like to invite more EOS holders to vote for HKEOS for the following reasons: Network security and EOS valuation. As EOS holders ourselves, we believe block producer’s core role is to protect the network security and value. By managing the EOS mainnet GitHub repository, we’ve been always ready for possible breaches or any urgent situations that will endanger the entire network. Further, we believe that the more lucrative dApps on the mainnet, the more valuable EOS becomes. In this perspective, we are adding value to the entire EOS community by increasing the utility of EOS token and related sister chain tokens. Even though we cannot promise any possible future event of price changes, but it is a simple logic of adding value to the entire network. With support from the voters, we will be able to operate with sustainability.
Upcoming Events
Stay tuned for future announcements regarding RocketBC’s product release.
